Can't run Central Admin on one of the WFEs ? An exception occurred while executing the Application Server Administration job.

I go to run Central Admin on one of my wfesand it says it's trying to install/configure it and then asks for the CDs to install it.. huh? I check add remove programs and all the sw is there. Central Admin from the MOSS server says the WFE is there.

On the WFE Isee these errors in the event log:

ยท The Execute method of job definition Microsoft.Office.Server.Administration.ApplicationServerAdministrationServiceJob (ID f887befe-7eae-49de-992c-bdeceda0c63f) threw an exception. More information is included below.

Dumb question.. should we even be running the Central Admin from a WFE? What about IIS, I attempt to run IIS from WFEs and I don't see anything. How/Where can I see created Sharepoint Web Applications? In our case we have two WFE which are load balanced.

Thanks for any help or information.

Hello,
Did you install CA on your WFE servers?
It does not get installed by default.
